Big Game in Glenwood

 

Big games are scheduled in Glenwood Arkansas as Arkadelphia Senior Activity Center teams challenge Glenwood to games of bean bag baseball and chair volleyball on April 27th, 2023. The senior bus will be departing from the Arkadelphia Senior Activity Center at 9 AM on Thursday morning with team members. The games will commence at 10 AM.

The Arkadelphia Chair Volleyball Team is very serious about the game. It is their intent to be well-prepared for the next tournament, whether out of town or at home.

Cornhole Tournaments Begin

First Round

We had five people participate in this morning's Cornhole Tournament at the Arkadelphia Senior Activity Center.

• 3rd Place: Anne Mahan
• Last Place: David Lynn Skinner

Next Game

We will be holding tournament games until the Grand Prize winner is announced at the end of the month.

What is the Prize

We have not actually purchased a prize for the winner as yet, we have set aside a budget of $50 and someone on the board will be delegated to purchase the prize.

We sometimes need additional people to provide home deliveries of meals.

Arkadelphia Council on Aging

Any adult with an interest in senior services may join for $2/year, half if over 59 years. The council meets once a month at 11 AM on the second Wednesday of each month unless adjourned to a later date.

Board of Directors of Arkadelphia Council on Aging

We have a number of openings available.

• Need an interim board member to serve the remainder of the 2023-2025 term.
• Need an assistant to the secretary. 3 Hr Credi for Student Intern.
• Need an assistant to the treasurer. 3 Hr Credi for Student Intern.
• Need qualified driver for seniors bus for trips in and out of town.
• Need members to serve on fundraising committees.

Glenwood challenges Arkadelphia to Bean Bag Baseball

As I listened to the muffled groans of the Glenwood team, I could sense their disappointment. Another goal had been scored by Arkadelphia, and the weight of defeat seemed to hang in the air. It was a moment that captured the fickle nature of sports, the highs and lows that come with victory and defeat. One could not help but feel for the Glenwood team, but such is the nature of the game.

It is quite commendable to observe Glenwood displaying such admirable sportsmanship by offering their most sincere wishes to their fellow competitors.

Doris Love just made an incredible play!

Now Doris takes a victory lap.

The runner is waiting to be brought home.

The apprehension that the imminent outcome may result in a strikeout has cast a cloud of doubt over the collective consciousness.

 

4th of July

Today, we spruced up the place with some festive 4th of July decorations since we won't be open tomorrow.
